Saturday 14 July

Firstly give thanks to the most high, for another week travelling around safely.

This weekend it was all about Huddersfield carnival, we were really looking forward to the carnival…until we got a call.

Due to the heavy raining the place was too wet for the carnival to really go ahead,” dam”.

We had our new summer Silver Star mix cds to give away, plus we really wanted to walk around the carnival and check out the vibes.

Every time we visit Huddersfield, Leeds, Bradford, it’s all about the Dutch pot Caribbean restaurant in Chappletown, Leeds.

Ask Gussy about the food, (Randy) I’m sure he will give you a good explanation

Huddersfield after carnival party

The rain may have stopped the carnival in the day, but it couldn’t stop the after party @ Amour in the night.

The after party was superb, all we can say is the party finished early in the morning, when we came outside the sun was rising.

The musical policy for the night was across the board, from Munga “bad from mi born“, to Elephant man “willie bounce“ and even some hip hop with a little mix of Soca because it’s the carnival after party of course.

Big up Doctor Psycho, also Dj Reds, large up all the dancehall crews from Leeds, Bradford, Manchester, Bristol, Luton, it seems like everyone was there.

After the party finish all we wanted to do is eat some food, well Gussy had some food left over from before, the only problem was the hotel wouldn’t warm it up due to health and safety reasons.

This is Gussy’s tip on how to warm food: cover food with a towel, get a hair dyer, turn on dyer for about five to six minutes and make sure that you rotate the heat all around for it to be effective.

Ps: We are not liable if you get food poison!

Saturday night Hitchin was the place; Silver Star was in the building helping Skully celebrate his birthday.

It’s been a while since Silver Star has been in Hitchin, so we were really looking forward to the party.

Our first view of the club wasn’t surprising because there was a line of people outside the club smoking, yes.
Since the smoking ban that’s all we’ve been seeing, “dam”.
The party was nice because it was full with ladies; they just wanted to party, big up all the crews from London, Luton, Birmingham and Reading.

Skully big up yourself, wish you many more earth strong.

Saturday 30 June

Saturday 30th June What a night we had at Club 53 in Luton celebrating King Alfreds Anniversary. First of all Gussy was rushed when he went to the toilet in the club by crazy fan Cleo who wanted to take a photo with him.

Then as we were getting ready to play there was a power cut(not caused by Stephen Mcgregors crazy riddim) on the floor we were playing on in the club. So we had to move upstairs and play on the top floor but still created some crazy vibes. Check us out on the road this Saturday 7th July @ Penthouse Nightclub in Hitchin where we'll be celebrating Dj Skully from Sovereign Roadshow's birthday.

Thursday 28 June

Splurt!
Uptown Splurt was crazy last night. 'Roll It Girl' Alison Hinds was in the building. She can definitely Roll It well, she put Splurt regular Borat in his place. He has been a dj for over 20 years, so you know his party was a big man ting.

It’s been a long time we haven’t been to a dance in the UK, where 80 per cent of the music was reggae “yes yes”.

The party was so nice, big up all the big people that came out Saturday night and had the time of their lives, large up Immortal sound from Birmingham “crazy fire last night”.

Just a final line, it’s been a long but good week; we hope it was the same for you.

Friday 15 June

Imagine a nice warm evening, with the breeze blowing just at the right level, “dats what am talking about”.

Yes, Vienna was ready for a crazy dancehall party with “Silver star ah de wickedest“, just before we go any further, did we forget to tell you that the setting for this party was on a boat.

We almost missed the party as missed our original flight due to roadworks on the M25 so our journey to Stansted Airport which usually takes an hour took us 2 and a half hrs. Luckily we were able to get a replacement flight and got to Vienna 2 hrs later than originally planned.

We did the usual things when we go aboard, got something to eat, went to the hotel etc, and then it was party time.
Big up the Austrian dancehall crews, big up Jah power sound, Badfish sound system also Ras.

Big shouts to the Austrian dancehall Queen in the building busting some “hot wuk” and all the dances which the ladies love to do. “Roll, roll it gal”

The same type of music which is played in the UK, that’s the same vibes they like in Vienna, we started our set with some Jah cure Dub plates and got some crazy forwards.

We went right through the stages and got everybody dancing, busting the raging and not forgetting the crazy frog, then about 5am in the morning as the sun was raising the dancehall crowds said they wanted to hear some new new Munga “yes yes”.

When you say new music you say Silver Star, when we said new tune the place was out and bad.
The party was so nice it never finish until 5.30am in the morning, what a night.

What a night it was, the ladies where there ready to party, basically they just wanted to wine and get on bad.
Of course we turn up the heat to the maximum, playing tunes like “hot wuk” and “tek way yuh self”, “raging bull” plus many more, the party was crazy.

Big up Karen and Camilla who came from Peterborough to party with Silver Star, they listen to our radio show every week, also large up all the crews from Newcastle in the building.

Uk Cup Clash 07

Its that time again “UK cup clash 07”, seven of the worlds best competing for the championship title.

This year saw the return of the legendary war sound, form the USA, King Addies. This sound shoot Tony Matterhorn to frame back in the days, when he and Baby face use to play the sound.

UK cup saw the return of Baby face aka Lion face back on the big sound, King Addies alongside selector Jam Jam. This is what the clash fans has been waiting for, the return of King Addies.

Mighty Crown was the next sound to return to the UK cup clash arena, they didn’t represent last year, but this year they came back firing from all sides,” Sammy T ah de driver lorrrrd”.

Other sounds competing included:
Black Kat
Love Injection
Immortal
Sound Trooper
And of course the defending champion Bass Odysseys.

This year UK clash was one of the most hype line up seen to date in the UK, there were so many big sounds no one couldn’t say for sure who would win.

All we can say is the clash was very entertaining, the UK sounds really done a good job, big up all the Birmingham massive. Black Kat was also very entertaining as always “step out ina mi”.

On the night the real clash was between Bass Odyssey and Mighty Crown.
Mighty Crown had an outstanding response in all the rounds, except for one for one, and that’s when Bass Odyssey showed their experience and took the victory 6-0.

Sound systems whom really disappointed on the night was King Addies, Sound Trooper, what happened??.

Congratulation to Bass Odyssey from Jamaica, the UK cup clash winner 2007.
Listen back to Silver star present to hear highlights of the UK cup clash 07 “sound fi dead”.

Silver star in Switzerland

Once again Silver Star touch down in Zurich Switzerland for a dancehall party, its always a pleasure to visit Zurich.

It couldn’t have been a better day to be in Switzerland, it was the first day of sunshine and the place look superb, lakes and rivers all around what a beautiful setting.

During our visit in the city we were able to find a Caribbean restaurant called Muskatnuss, “yes yes“, so you can guess we had a big dinner “dats right”.

This is a picture of a Caribbean resturant in Switzerland, but if you have a wicked Caribbean resturant in your endz like a listener called Sefa :

Hey Guys this is a pic of a Carribean Take Away in Lewisham, Gabby's on Lewisham High Street. The best in South London!!

Silver Star in Bradford

Saturday was business as usual, the destination was Bradford, we arrived early in the afternoon. It was such a sunny day we had a look around to see what was happening.
After arriving we were feeling really hungry for some food, but not just any food, we needed some Caribbean food.

We remembered, from the last time we was in Leeds, that there was Caribbean take way in Chappletown “Dush Pot restaurant“, so we headed off to Leeds for some food,“yes,de food taste good yuh see”.

Silverstar are also wanting to find out your best Carribean take away/resturants in your ends after visiting Dutch pot in Leeds, with the food tasting so nice they decided to highlight all the Caribbean take away in the Uk with the help of our listeners highlighting their local.

Send in a picture of your local by email Silverstar@bbc.co.uk or send it in to 88111

After returning from Leeds, back to Bradford the aim was to get some rest because later that night it was all about sound clash “sound fi dead”.

We was invited to host a sound clash called “defend tour ends 07”, the winner of the clash would walk away with the title and also £1000 prize money.

Sounds featuring in the clash:

Jahman nuclear fr Wolverhampton
Box Juice fr Leeds,
Techtris fr Manchester,
Little Sample fr Huddersfield
Superclick fr Manchester.

The Clash took place at the Marlboro rooms in Bradford, it was very entertaining to see UK sound battling it out for the title.

These sound never disappointed us at all because each sound brought their fans, horns, whistles, lighters, and real good reggae music “it was a real sound clash“.

You know there is rules and regulations in clashes, but hey am not going to get in that right now, after hours of musical war it came down to the tune for tune, Little Sample verses Techtris was the two sounds that made it to the finals.

It was the best out of ten,Techtris took the tune for tune 6-0, after that you wanted to see the celebrations
Congratulation to Techtris fr Manchester “Defend your ends champion 07”

The reggae/dancehall scene is really booming right now, so you know the albums are dropping hard.

has dropped his brand new album “The living fire”. The album includes some wonderful collaborations like Chuck Fenda, Cherine Anderson and Tanya Stephens.

Out now in all leading records shops.

Richie Spice

Richie Spice, well what can I say, the Rasta man a gwan great right now. He has many anthems within the dancehall, “Youth dem cold”, “Brown skin”, plus many more in his new album called “in the streets of Africa”

The New Wembley Stadium

At last the new Wembley Stadium is finished, we had the opportunity to check it out and it looks phenomenal.

Wembley Stadium is a very famous landmark in the UK, its history goes way back, in the past there have been many famous football matches and concerts there. It has now been renovated with the latest technology.

Big respect to all the celebrities who took part in the football match, at the stadium on Saturday including John Barnes, an ex Liverpool football player & Radio One's Dj Spoony whose Soccer AM side won the celebrity tournament, he scored a couple of goals and is actually quite a decent player. There was also some soccer skills drill taking place on the pitch with some local youths, Gussys father was one of the coaches for the kids.

Cross, Angry & Miserable was definately the talk on Sunday night @ Stratford Rex in London as Bounty Killer and the Alliance rolled into town.
It was their last date on a 3 day UK tour which included stops in Bradford & Coventry. Big up the UK artists that performed on the night, there were some massive forwards for Rudy Classic, Ragga Rugi, Gappy Ranks, Redman UK and Tug-A-War. After a long delay it was time for the Anger Management Band (including producers of the Anger Management riddim Daseca) to take their place on stage as the Alliance was in the building. Future Fambo, Bling Dawg and a very energetic Busy Signal blessed the stage with short but hype performances before it was time for the Poor Peoples Governer who never failed to disappoint his army of fans in attendance. Special shout out to musician Jazzwad whose role on the night was Bountys musical director and back up vocalist. By the time the lights turned on in the venue you could tell that he could have performed for longer but thats what happens when shows don't start on time.

Silver Star is no stranger to the city, because over the years we have been in Holland several times.

This time round we where invited to play at Jamrock Explosion, a dancehall event which attract hundreds of ravers “literally”.

There was 1200 tickets pre sold for the event which was a clear indication that the party was big “it sell off“, we arrived outside the club about 12.45am to a massive crowd of ravers it almost seem like it was a Rolling Stone concert.

The party was full with vibes from start to finish, the music policy was 90 per cent dancehall and 10 per cent other, apologies goes out to all the ravers who never got in the club.

Big up to all the ravers who showed their love for our set by thanking us and taking picture with us, also big respect to Dj Waxfiend,Shyrock,MBA,DJ Jah.

Sound de big ting deh again(Gussy’s birthday party)

If you attended Gussy’s party last year you would know it was a sell off, the place nice, this year it was planned to be the same.

Everyone made their own way to Luton, Gussy was driving his car, while I (Randy) was driving mine.

Gussy got to Luton with no problem, but guess what, when I was travelling to Luton that’s when the traffic hit.
The traffic on the motorway was sick, instead of a half an hour journey it was more like a 45mins journey.

Party time yes yes

The party didn’t start ‘til about 1am because of the traffic on the motorway, but with all that going on the party was still full with lots of vibes, big up all the dancehall crews who made it in the building and turned up the musical heat, big up all the ladies in the place looking o so sexy.

Big up Gussy because he got a couple of bottles of champagne all over him, the suit got wet from early, you know it’s a birthday party.

Big up all the djs who represented, Seani B, Quincy ,Skully, Hi tec. Nuff respect, watch out for next years party.

Silver star in Stockholm, Sweden

Once again it was early movements for Silver star, we left out about 5am Wednesday morning to go Heathrow airport and catch a flight to Stockholm, Sweden.

This was our first international move for the new year so you can guess we were really up for it, the flight was really smooth we tried to hold a rest on the plane but the journey was too short.

Before too long we were in Sweden and on arrival the place was freezing, snow and ice was all over the place, we didn’t waste no time it was straight to the hotel.

After a little time chilling in the hotel Gussy said he was stepping out to buy a suit for his birthday party “de suit gangsta crazzzzy”.

Party time

All I can say is Sweden you can party hard, trust me, big up all the crews that was in the building from early “dats what I like punctuality“. When we arrived at the club the party was just starting so we went into the VIP room and chill for a bit.

After chilling we went through to the dancehall floor and straight away started juggling because we wasn’t on no long ting, ah jus party vibes we defend, big up all the ladies who partied from start to end, also large up all the ladies fresh from Jamaica with all the new dances “party vibes dats right”.

All I can say about Stockholm is they love dancehall hard “dats good“, big up the number one dancehall DJ from Sweden Million Styles watch out for some brand new tunes on Silver Star presents, large up the KBC Family Niceness.

Sun 28th January

Silver Star in Peterborough

Yes it’s another Saturday night and our destination is Peterborough, the Park night club, for a night called Suite chocolate. The party was a birthday celebration to Martin Luther King jr and what a night it was.

We arrived at the party about one o’clock in the night, and it was a good look because there was a long queue of ravers outside waiting to get in the club, it was very promising, “de people dem full up ina de dance”.

When we finally got into the club the place was packed with ravers ready to party, there was more ladies in the club than men, and the ladies really wanted to bruck out and they did just that.

Big up all the ladies who where on their head top showing how to do the hot wuk dance “x-rated that get the woman excited lorrrrrd”,Peterborough ladies have all the dances on lock, big up.

We must say Peterborough can party hard because the club didn’t finish until 4 o’clock and the place was full with vibes all the way till the end, watch out Peterborough for the next time Silver Star in your city.

Wednesday 10th Jan

I'm writing this diary entry with a tear in my eye after the way that Liverpool were humiliated twice by Arsenal in the space of 4 days.

The problem with me is that I'm such a proud supporter of my team that everybody knows it so from the moment I walk out of my house today I will get abuse everywhere I go, from my local barber shop to the 1xtra towers. And don't even talk about Uptown Splurt tonight at Cameos, I'm considering pulling a sickie. All I've got to say to all Arsenal fans is bring it on, kick me when i'm down, you'll NEVER win the Champions League and we're gunner finish above you lot in the premiership.

PS. To the Arsenal fan that keeps sending me abusive text messages, your number has been reported to my network provider so your bull will be barred in the future(you know who you are boss man!)

A very disgruntled Gussy.

****IMPORTANT MESSAGE*****

** Hello, I am Gussy's boss, a proud and jubilant Arsenal fan - please don't be fooled by his sulking on this message...he comes into the office badly dressed in his Liverpool shirt when they do well - he has to be a man and take his beating when it happens - as for all the other Liverpool fans who went into hiding on Tuesday night (Robbo Ranx, DJ Fitz etc)...we have your number and will be tracking you down...I bet you feel six...sorry, I mean SICK....We ended your season in January!!!!!!

***Random Randy Last Quote Of The Year***

The Most High is my shepherd I shall not want
He makes me lie down in green pastures
Leads me beside the still waters
Restores my soul
And leads me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake
Although I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
I will fear no evil, for he is with me
His rod and his staff, they comfort me
He prepares a table before me in the presence of my enemies
He anoints my head with oil, my cup runs over
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life
And I will dwell in the house of the the most forever.

Sat 16th December

Silver star in Italy (Milan)

Its been a busy week behind the scene for Silver Star, here, there, just keeping everything moving right and up to de time.

Saturday we left out about Midday to go Gatwick Airport, we was a bit more relaxed than normal, until we got caught up in traffic on the M25 “dam dam dam”.

We arrived at Gatwick and check in last, nearly missing the flight “its just one of those days“, to cut a long story short we caught the flight to Milan.

The party was @ Tunnel nightclub in Milan, it started off slowly and the venue got full around 2am,the crowd really appreciate good reggae/dancehall music, big up the Golden Bass sound system and High grade sound.

The party sell off, the Italian crowed danced all night, the only ting was it was a no smoking zone, watch out UK the ban is coming soon.

1xtra and Radio 1 xmas party

Well what can we say, firstly has anyone one seen the new parking system in London West end.
Its no more money in the machine ting, now its either you text or call and pay over the phone “mad sick”.

Do you have this in your city, let us know silverstar@bbc.co.uk
After sorting out how to pay using the new system, we pulled up in the building “party time“, big up all the 1xtra staff who represented.

We all had to take pictures, it’s a year to year ting, but this year 1xtra had their pictures with Radio 1 “its all good”.

After the photo shoot it was party time, all I can say is imagine a free bar all night??.
Use your imagination and guess the outcome “am not tipsy”.

After the party there’s the after party, well not really cause every Wednesday night its all about Uptown Splurt featuring Robbo Ranks,Asha World, Silverstar @ cameos, London, behind nike town.

Uptown Splurt was out and badda dan bad this week ,big up all the 1xtra and Radio 1 staff up in the building and Hordley Harrison, also large up all the birthday crews in the house Shaun and also Brandy.

Saturday 9 December

It’s a uptown party
“Driver“, big up our driver because the youth can drive. Me(Randy) and Gussy were in one car while Assassin was in another, Assassin's car left out before ours, but you know which car reached Northkoping first - ours of course.

When we arrived in Northkoping we had a little time to get something to eat, while Assassin chilled out in his hotel.

You know the saying time flies, will it does because shortly after we reached the city it was showtime.

The venue started to get full around midnight and believe us the crowd kept on coming fast, the party in Northkoping was out and badda dan,the place full up with bare sexy gal drinking their Heineken and just partying hard.

Big up the ladies who had the dutty wine on lock and also the ladies in their X-rated outfits “lorrrrd”,much respect to everyone that showed love and respect to Silver Star with their positive comments, much thanks.

Watch out this week Silver star on the road

13th Uptown Splurt @ Cameos London

16th Tunnel Milan, Italy

Watch out for Silver star presents Sunday the 17th December its going to be crazy to miss is a dis,“now hear this”.

Friday 8 December

Dancehall xtravaganza
Next stop on the tour was Uppsala Sweden, this city is a reggae/dancehall all over.
The venue in Uppsala wasn’t the biggest but the vibes in the dance was phenomenal, big up all the ladies requesting some Sizzla “its just one of those days”.

Large up Assassin because the performance was top ranking in Uppsala, big up all the crews that knew Assassin songs word for word.

After finishing the dance we had a good rest, before leaving for the next city which was two hours drive away.

Thursday 7 December

Off to Sweden for a rest

Thursday morning it was early movements we had to check out of the hotel at 7am to give us enough time to reach Milan to catch a flight to Stockholm, where we had a couple hours to rest.

Believe me after being on the road for seven days straight playing out every night in a different country a rest is well overdue and as you can see Assassin and Gussy wasted no time getting some rest at the airport.

Hey don’t think it stops there because the show must go on, keep locked to find what happens next with Silver Star and Assassin pon the road.

Wednesday 6 December

Italia Italia Italia

We arrived at Milan airport just after 5pm in the evening, but what a journey it was to reach Bologna, the traffic on the road was hectic it took 4hours before we reached our destination.

The city of Bologna was very busy because a big car show was taking place in the city, anyway to cut a long story short we just had enough time to eat some Tagliatelle & Ragu and hit the party.

I must say Bologna showed love and respect to Silver Star and Assassin throughout our sets with lighters and by making a lot of noise.

Tuesday 5 December

Welcome to Jamrock
It’s always a pleasure visiting Amsterdam, Holland because the dancehall vibes over here is just like the UK.

Every Tuesday night the place to be is the Brasil Bar for the best in hardcore dancehall music, big up Dj Waxfiend and also Shyrock the resident djs at the club.

The vibes Tuesday night was second to none after a very explosive first set “Silver Star ah de wickedest”, with lots of forwards flowing from left to right it was time for a local artist to hit the bar. Big up Amo-Lab, believe the youth bad when he said ‘Hennessy’ the crowd said ‘It give you energy’, the place went mad mad mad!!!

Listen to Silver Star presents and you will hear some tracks from this artist real soon.

You know what time it was now, time for Assassin to hit the stage, no I mean the bar, the venue didn’t have a stage so all the performances had to be done on the bar in the club! Assassin mash up the place ‘ah murder’, the dancehall fans really had a good time.

After Assassin finished his set it was time for Silver Star to play another set again, big up Gussy because the musical selection was really superb, the party usually finishes about 4pm but it went on until 4.45pm in the morning “yes now”.

Shout goes out to all the hot gal dem who was in the building especially the ladies who wanted to hear ‘Bun Him’ by Macka Diamond ft Blacker it’s a hit.

All we can say is Amsterdam is the dancehall city in Holland.

Monday 4 December

After a busy weekend it was time to hit the road again this time the destination was Vienna Austria, we arrived in Linz airport about 4.30pm in the evening and the place was cold, raining but we didn’t make this change our mood.

The promoter for the event was a bit crazy because when we arrived he met us and a little while later when we where walking to the hotel he walked into a lamp post, “ha ha ha ha”, he saw it but I think he wasn’t worried because he’s harder than iron. (Randy)

The party was out of this world lots of ladies looking fine and everyone in the party just had a hardcore love for dancehall music, big up the Austrian dancehall queens who attended the party and got really wild.

After finishing our set in the morning we only had time to check out the only reggae/dancehall shop in Vienna: Roots Messenjah Records.

Thursday Silver Star and Assassin arrived in Italy Rome at about 7.30pm, we didn’t have a lot of time to settle because we had to play a set at One Love Sounds weekly dancehall event.

Big up One love sound the real sound, the party in Rome was out of this world.
When Assassin touch the stage the crowd went mad, “check check” believe me the performance was real professional (Randy).

Sunday 26th Nov

Party time ready ready
It was about 10.30pm when we left the hotel on our way to the club, the plan was to have something to eat at the club ,before we dealt with business.

When we arrived at the club the vibes was setting nicely, some live performances was on from early, but we didn’t spend too much time watching them, because hungry was calling.

After finishing our meal we had a good look around the club, the place look wicked, there was so much sexy girls in the place we didn’t know where to look, Big shouts to Grace,Emma,Angie,Marian.

The party kick of with a set by Code Red a dancehall sound from Kenya, and then it was followed by of course Silver Star Sound “silver star ah de wickedest, dats right”.

The party had crazy vibes from start to finish everyone was dancing, drinking, put it this way the party hype, large up all the UK massive in the building, big up celebrity Sami, also Black supremacy family another dancehall sound from Kenya.

The party went on till early hours in the morning by then everyone was real crunk, big up all the Kenyan massive who showed there appreciation of our set, with all the positive comments.

Silver Star in Kenya

The party was so large even the air hostess on the flight back to the UK attended, we didn’t even know until she said I know you lot Silver Star, big up all the air hostess on the Kenyan airway.

Saturday 25th Nov

It was a late start for us on Saturday after a crazzzy Friday night, Saturday we didn’t want to do too much because we was saving our energy for the party, but saying that we had one radio interview on at Kiss Fm with Dj Shaffie & Sanaipei

We couldn’t come to Nairobi and don’t check out the local ‘Maasai Market’ and buy a few things. Big up to Gussy who had on his Jamaica t-shirt which made us very popular in the market, everyone wanted to sell us something.

Big up everyone in the market trying to make two ends meet.

From the market we went back to the hotel to hold another rest for the big night.

Friday 24th Nov

“Sun is shining”

Friday we had a real good look around the city of Nairobi, the city reminded me of Jamaica in so many different ways.

Too much fun and no work is not the Silver Star way, so it was time to do some promotion on the radio for the gig on Saturday, the weekly “Smirnoff Way Out Party” which is basically an eviction party for Kenya’s version of Fame Academy.

The first stop was at Capital Fm, we were the special guests
.
You know what time it was again eating time “yes yes”, after eating we had another look around the city.
Later on that night it was time for some more promotion, this time we where guest on Code Red dancehall show on Capital Fm.

The vibes was hype the texts went crazzzzzzy when we arrived in the building and started juggling some tunes, there was so much love for dancehall music and Silver Star. “Mad again”
You could just imagine what a day it was, we had time to hold a fresh before venturing out on the city to see the night life, “hype hype hype” we’re not saying no more.

Thursday 23rd Nov

“Hello Mama Africa”

Straight after we finished our set at Cameo’s Silver Star was on the move again to the airport to catch a flight to Kenya as we have a gig out there on Saturday night.

After such a busy night, it was time to hold a rest on our flight. I must say the flight was nice, real superb we caught back up with some sleep. “Zzzzzzzzzzzzz” (randy).

We arrived in Nairobi around 8.30pm in the evening; the weather was good even though it’s the rainy season.

On arrival we met with the promoter of the event and our own private security Sammy who would accompany us around until we leave on Sunday.

By that time we where real hungry so it was for food, we went to the Pizza Inn, after we finish we called it a night.

Wednesday 22 Nov

If you want the realist and the hypest dancehall event during the week the place to be is Uptown Splurt @ Camoes, London with music from Silver Star, Robbo Ranks and Asha world crew plus special guest dj tonight Allan Brando.

Big up Alborosie, a reggae artist originally from Italy who now lives in Jamaica as he was in the building performing his new song called ‘Herbalist’.

Big up all the sexy ladies who were in the house, special shouts to Tamika the birthday girl.

Monday 20 November

Its hard for us to believe that Silver Star was formed 10 years ago(yeah thats right, since high school days). We had crazy dreams of what we wanted to achieve in the game and we're definately proud of how far we have come.

We celebrate our 10 years with a crazy party on December 2nd @ Silverspoon in Wembley, London with a special guest performance from Assassin, so we've been working hard on the road over the last few days getting the word out on the street. Trust me, its not easy on the road in cold and rain at 5 in the morning handing out flyers but big up Randy who's always prepared with the full hat, scarf and gloves set.

This weekend we head to Mama Africa for a gig in Nairobi, Kenya. Word has it that the Kenyan crew are reggae crazy so when they let us loose on the cdjs our plan is to level the place!!!!! We'll tell you all about it when we get back next Sunday and hopefully have photos of our trip as well. In the mean time we're out till next time. - Peace, Gussy

Sunday 12th November

What a weekend! On Saturday night it was all about Silverspoon in Wembley, London where we linked up with former Stone Love selector Nico Bam Bam & UK Cup Champions Bass Odyssey for a night called 'Goodas Fi Dem'.

Silver Star with Bass Odyssey and Nico Bam Bam

Check out the studio crew from last week, JD, Curtis Lynch Jr, Baby Chan& Prince Malaki all to paid tribute to the old school

GIRLS GIRLS EVERYWHERE!

Yes now, what a weekend it has been, apart from being real busy, it has been superb.
The place to be on Friday night was most definitely Tudor Rose in Southall, London. We hosted a bonfire special featuring Tony Matterhorn “Matterhorn again” .

The night started off very nice, we were really in the mood for a great party and the party did not disappoint. Lots and lots of girls full up the place and the vibes was one of the best of 2006.
The music was across the board, from 80’s, 90’s, old school, hip hop, reggae and dancehall.
But, of course the basis of the dance was hardcore dancehall, “yes yes yes”.

Big up Mad Marley who celebrated his birthday on the night and what a celebration it was. I think he is still recovering from the night all now.

We just have one question, do the ladies have a higher tolerance for the cold weather?
Because the ladies were in some real X-rated outfits and it was freezing, but who are we to complain, they looked outstanding.

Have a nice week everyone, bless bless.

Sun 29th October

"pam pam lord have mercy"

What's up everyone I hope all is well, is it me or is the year going really fast?.

Another ting, why does the time need to change? Why does the time have to move forward or backwards at all, I think its really mad, what purpose does it serve?

Well, not realising that the time was going back, we were out on the road very early this weekend, we reached three dances.

Big up all the international dancehall guests who where in the UK this weekend, there was Japanese dancehall queen Junko busting the "hot wuk"dance she had it on lock bouncing all round the place, big up

Junko Bashment

Shelly Belly Jamaican dancer who also represented this weekend.

Overall this weekend was good but it could have been better, hopefully this weekend will be better.

Sunday 1st October

"If its raining its raining" How can i put this?????, this weather is really peeing me off, its not fair, I miss summer already.

On Thursday Gussy went to Thorpe Park minus Randy & Viper(somebody said that they're afraid of heights!lol).

As its off peak season the park was kind of empty so after riding on all the major roller coasters at least twice its fair to say he was knackered at the end of the day and had to rest most of the evening and all day on Friday.

Come Friday night and we were playing in Luton @ Club M for a night called "Goodas Fi Dem". The party was crazy hype lots of ladies ladies and more ladies(yes yes yes) and they had the "hot wuk" dance on lock(that's the next big dance for the ladies). Big up the Red Roses crew, Fya crew, Lady diamond and 1xtra's very own DJ Edu who was in the building.

Saturday night it was all about raving it up at the 5th floor Penthouse party on the ends(north west London). We rolled out about 3am in the morning, big up the jerk man who was busy jerking up chicken for all the hungry crews. The party was full with bare hot gal"loooorrrrrd",they where ready for the passa passa "bounce a gal a gal nuh hot like u gal".

Before we knew it the party was finished and yes it was raining once again, we made up a song just before stepping into the rain "ina de rain, ina de rain, everybody step out ina de rain!" What do think could it be the next number one??????????

Sunday 17th September

"Wah dem a talk bout,Silver star ah de wickedist

Before we knew it we were half way through the week already, Thursday night we were in Oxford for a night called Strictly Come Bashment @ The Coven. The night featured live performances from veteran Uk artists Top Cat and Tenor Fly and the man dem have tune pon top a tune, it was a great feeling to see homegrown artists locking the place like that.

Saturday night we never had any dances so we decided to take in 1xtras live coverage of Irie Jambore which took place in New York over the labour day weekend. Featured artists included Beenie man, Cham plus nuff more, the show sounded great "dancehall for life anyway".

Crazy show tonight, we featured an exclusive performance from Assassin at Irie Jamboree in New York. Although the event went out on 1xtra Live on Saturday night, this performance is so exclusive that it wasn't even featured so the only place that you can hear it is on Silver Star Presents.

This week we'll be holding it down at Uptown Splurt on Wednesday, then Friday we'll be at Club Venom in Bedford. Saturday night we'll be at Stratford Rex in London for the latest edition of Soca getting beat up by...sorry Soca V Bashment!!!! Till next time, we gone...keep calm.
