Air Deccan is modelled on cut-price European services | India's first low-cost carrier Air Deccan is set to buy two Airbus A320 aircraft and has an option for two more, the company has said. Neither Air Deccan nor Airbus would put a price on the deal, but the A320 carries a catalogue price of $65m. From July, the low-cost carrier will also lease five A320 aircraft from Singapore Aircraft Leasing Enterprise. The expansion is being seen as a sign that the "no frills" service is taking off in India.
