Tesco overcomes ash disruption as profits rise

Supermarket chain Tesco has said there should only be ''limited disruption'' to suppliers because of ash cloud-related travel chaos, as the firm announces annual pre-tax profits of £3.176bn.

The figure is an increase of 10% on the previous 12 months.

Chief Executive Sir Terry Leahy said Tesco has been managing flight disruption by bringing produce from Kenya into the UK via Spain.
