Bailamos features on the soundtrack to Will Smith's latest film Wild Wild West and it was Smith who suggested that the 24-year-old release it as a single.

Enrique, who has had several hits in the Latin charts, follows the US chart success of fellow Latin stars Ricky Martin and Jennifer Lopez.

Bailamos, to be released in the UK on 30 August, will appear on Iglesias' first full-length English language album, due for US release in October.

Enrique's 25-year-old brother, Julio Jr, has also released an album and will be touring with Cher in September.

Zoe and Norman finally off on honeymoon

Zoe Ball has finally jetted off on her mystery honeymoon after an apparent bout of flu laid her low.

Back to her usual casual rock chick look, the Radio 1 DJ and new husband Norman Cook, aka Fatboy Slim, left Heathrow for Los Angeles but kept their final destination a secret.

The couple were married in a register office in Bath last Friday and celebrated the wedding with family, friends and celebrities at Babington House in Somerset the following day.

Oasis are still fancied as millennium chart toppers, despite losing two founder members in recent weeks.

Friends star undergoes eye operation

Courteney Cox has undergone a laser operation to correct short-sightedness so serious she was legally blind.

The procedure reportedly cost the Friends star �3,000.

Before the operation, Cox was unable to read cue cards. She believes it saved her career.

On newly-wed husband, actor David Arquette, Cox said: "I'd no idea he was so handsome."

Kudrow to star opposite John Travolta

Friends star Lisa Kudrow will play John Travolta's love interest in a new movie called Numbers.

Kudrow and Travolta will co-star as a lottery girl and weatherman working on a small-town television station.

The film reunites Travolta with Nora Ephron, the writer-director of hits like When Harry met Sally and Michael, in which Travolta played an angel.

Filming begins in October when Travolta finishes work on Battleground Earth.

Director Kaye makes UK stand-up debut

Film director and artist Tony Kaye is making his British debut as a stand-up comic at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Kaye who's been honing his raconteur-style routine in the US, will be on the bill at Stand Up For The Assembly Rooms.

Kaye, who disowned his first feature film American History X after a row with the studio, made his name as an award-winning commercials director.

His latest film is One Arm - the story of a boxer starring Marlon Brando.

Prime Suspect's Mirren stuck for words

Actress Helen Mirren may have won an Emmy nomination for her real-life role as writer-philosopher Ayn Rand but she had difficulty trying to read her books.

The Prime Suspect star confesses she was unable to get past the front page of either of Rand's best-sellers, The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged.

"I'm so impressed by anyone who reads her because she writes very long, difficult sentences and it was a bit beyond me," Mirren said in a US report.

Plan for People's Awards extravaganza

Everyday heroes will be hailed along with showbiz stars in a TV extravaganza called The People's Awards, the BBC has announced.

The show, billed as the public's own Honours List, will feature nominations from one of the biggest public polls outside an election.

The poll will be held via BBC regional radio stations, web sites and BBC One.

BBC One controller Peter Salmon said it will be "a truly historic and star studded programme".

Steve McQueen's son 'to play hitman'

Chad McQueen, son of the late movie tough guy Steve McQueen, is reportedly to star opposite Reservoir Dogs actor Michael Madsen in a film called Fall.

McQueen, 38, who's been acting since the early 80s, plays a hit man in the film and will jointly produce it.

The film also marks the directing debut of Alec Baldwin's brother Daniel, who plays McQueen's hitman brother.

Madsen plays a former FBI agent being hunted by the brothers.
