French said filming the final two-part special left her "a bit teary" |
TV sitcom The Vicar of Dibley will return for one final episode in March, on BBC One's Comic Relief night. The show topped the UK's Christmas Day ratings, and 12.3 million people saw the wedding of Dawn French's character in the final edition last Monday.
Fans can expect "a little 10-minuter to keep them going", writer Richard Curtis told BBC Radio Five Live.
But he admitted it would be "tough" to create, as the marriage storyline had changed the "dynamic" of the show.
Comedian French has spent 12 years playing vicar Geraldine Granger, who has consistently been unlucky in love.
However, her fortunes changed in the final two-part story, as she married Harry Kennedy, played by Richard Armitage.
Their wedding ceremony had a Doctor Who theme.
