 Aurigny now flies to Bournemouth eight times a week |
A Channel Island airline is expanding one of its routes. Aurigny is adding an extra flight on Friday evenings on its route between Jersey and Bournemouth.
The second Friday flight brings the number of services to Bournemouth operated by the Guernsey States-owned airline each week to eight.
The route is becoming well served. On top of Aurigny's flights, Rockhopper fly four times a week between Jersey and the Dorset resort.
Increased competition
Aurigny says it has sold more than 5,000 seats on the route since it was launched three months ago.
The two airlines are becoming increasingly competitive: Rockhopper has just launched a service from Alderney to Brighton and is now seeking permission from Guernsey's States to fly between Guernsey and Alderney.
