| Tensions were high in Zimbabwe ahead of the presidential election run-off. On 22 June opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai pulled out because he said the vote would not be fair. The government had banned political adverts and rallies for opposition groups, and the distribution of food aid by international organisations.
