A new survey suggests we lose more than �800m a year, when we shop, because we can't work out whether we've been short-changed.

  • The research was carried out by the adult learning organisation Learndirect.

    It found half those questioned felt their basic maths and English skills let them down.

    Many said they struggle to convert currency on holiday, fail to calculate the cost of items in shops.
