The Pakistani government has sacked the managing director of Pakistan International Airlines, Sher Afgan Malik.

His removal comes as an industrial dispute between Pakistan International Airlines and its pilots continues for a sixth day.

They're protesting about working conditions, saying there's a shortage of pilots.

The Pilots' Association said staff were only flying for the officially permitted number of hours and they were refusing to do extra work.

The industrial action has caused cancellations and delays at airports around Pakistan.
