Chance to see behind the scenes
TR2 in Plymouth
Members of the public will get a chance to see inside the Theatre Royal Plymouth's new �8.2 m Production and Education Centre (TR2) on Bank Holiday Monday.

The building will open its doors for a special preview on 5 May, prior to its official opening by the Earl and Countess of Wessex on 6 May, as part of the Theatre's 21st birthday celebrations.

A free shuttle bus will will operate from outside the Theatre Royal Plymouth on Bank Holiday Monday from 1015 BST.

All parts of the centre will be on view, allowing members of the public access to areas including the main rehearsal studio, where shows like Cats and Summer Holiday have already rehearsed.

Unique pods

They will also be able to see the main assembly hall where a number of Royal Opera House sets are currently being refurbished.

The workshop areas, the Green Room, education and music pods will also be accessible.

Visitors will be given guided tours, with experienced Theatre Royal staff on hand to answer questions.

Situated on the banks of the River Plym at Cattedown, TR2 is surrounded by pathways enabling visitors the chance to view the centre's unique bronze-clad pods.
