How to set up a SIM pin

Here is how to set up a SIM pin to protect it from unauthorised access by criminals.
Apple:
Settings > Mobile Service/Data > SIM PIN >Toggle on 'SIM PIN' > Follow on-screen instructions from here.
Android:
Settings > Security and Privacy > More security settings > SIM card security > Toggle on 'Lock SIM card' > Follow on-screen instructions from here.
It may ask for a default pin, which can vary from provider to provider. We recommend to check online with your provider or call its customer service number to find out your default pin.
If you have dual SIM cards in your device, it may ask you to select which phone number you would like to set a pin number for, before seeing the 'SIM PIN' option.
Please contact your provider if you struggle to set this up or it is not accessible in your phone's settings.
EE has told us that the default pin for its service is 1111.
If you have locked your SIM and require a PUK code, EE has told Morning Live that customers need to follow the steps below...
Log in to EE using a web browser
Click on Plans & subscriptions
On that page, click on Manage mobile
On that page, scroll down to Phones and devices
Your PUK Code is shown under Unlock your SIM / eSIM
Once you have your PUK code, enter it into your phone to unblock your SIM.
Take care when you enter your PUK code into your phone. You'll block your SIM card again if you enter the wrong code 10 times.
