Join the Morning Live Couch to 5K run in Manchester

BBC Morning Live and Great Run are teaming up to give you the chance to run a special 5K race as part of the Great Manchester Run.
If you've been following the Couch to 5K programme on Morning Live, now is your chance to put all that training into action.
For the second year running, Morning Live is partnering with the Great Manchester Run as part of our Couch to 5K coverage. We've already challenged Dr Oscar to become the latest member of the Morning Live family to complete the Couch to 5K journey — and now it's your turn.
You can join in too!
Starting from a dedicated start line, 200 Morning Live viewers will have the chance to sign up and run a 5K route finishing at the main Great Manchester Run finish line alongside other participants.
The BBC Morning Live Couch to 5K will begin in Trafford Park, Manchester at 12:15pm on Sunday 31st May 2026.
The event is free to enter, but places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note the event will be filmed for BBC Morning Live, so runners may appear on camera. Participants will also need to make their own travel arrangements to and from the race.
Entries close on 17th April 2026, or once all 200 places have been filled — whichever comes first.
