It’s Jas’s 18th birthday, but she doesn’t seem too happy about it. Whilst Rita is out preparing for her party at the café, Pradeep “surprises” Jas by coming downstairs with a stupid hat on and balloons tied round his waist! Jas isn’t impressed – he does it every year, and she was too old for it at 13, let alone 18. She tries again to tell him how worried she is about her results, but he won’t listen. Pradeep heads off to the café too, where he meets Jodie. Surprisingly they hit it off. Jodie wants to use produce from the allotments and he’s pleased to see someone on the canalside thinking seriously about the local community for once.

Rozena and Brian meet up for a drink. Brian can’t work out what she wants – is she trying to get him drunk? – but Rozena is evasive. She’s fishing to find out what he really thinks about her dad, and there’s no way she’s giving him a lift home!

Later Jas goes to the Centre to look for Imran - she just wants someone to talk to. He isn’t there but she waits around and Kuljit chats to her instead. He can’t believe it’s her 18th birthday and she’s sitting there crying, so he and Sway decide to take her out for the time of her life! Back at the café Rita and Pradeep begin to worry where she’s got to….
