The Golden Crown’s under siege from journalists. Bill has taken refuge upstairs in the flat, unable to come to terms with what he’s done. Sean’s finding the atmosphere difficult he tells Kuljit. It wasn’t Bill’s fault, he wasn’t drunk or on his phone. They’ll just have to keep trying to convince him. The police have been going door to door asking questions about Zak and Talib. Sean reckons it’s out of order. Kuljit says that depends if it’s true or not. It seems Sean’s the only one firmly in Zak’s corner.
Bill scours the newspapers for reports on the accident. He shows Mary a story about Zak and Talib being terrorist suspects. He tells her that someone shook his hand earlier; treating him like a hero! He’s struggling to hold it together and going through it over and over again. He wants to go and see Khatija and Pervaiz, or Fatima’s parents. Mary advises him to leave it for a while yet.
A customer starts chatting to Sean as he collects glasses. The customer seems very interested in Zak and Talib though. Sean quickly realises he’s another journalist and tells him to get lost.
