In Spanish, articles depend on the gender of the noun that follows. Definite articles are ‘el’, ‘la’, ‘los’ and ‘las’. Indefinite articles are ‘un’, ‘una’, ‘unos’ and ‘unas’.

Use definite articles with days of the week, generic nouns, body parts, personal items. Do not use indefinite articles with jobs and in front of certain specific words.
