BBC News, coverage of the Epstein files, February 2026

Summary of complaint

We have received complaints from people who feel there has been insufficient coverage of the mentions of Nigel Farage in the Epstein files.

Our response

It’s worth noting that just because someone is mentioned in the files, it doesn’t automatically indicate that there’s been any wrongdoing. As well as Nigel Farage, other British politicians such as Sir Keir Starmer, Jeremy Corbyn, Kemi Badenoch and Sir Ed Davey have also been mentioned in the files. On most occasions the names were mentioned in news articles or newsletters that had been shared in emails between other individuals.

There have also been some cases of misinformation being shared, included an AI generated image of Nigel Farage and Jeffrey Epstein being posted to a Wrexham Labour Party account on X (which has now been removed): Deleted image of Epstein and Farage was AI-generated, Labour says

However, if there are further significant updates to this story we will report on them.
