chart positions are not really that important, album positions are. and her album sold thousands. the song was so much better than half the songs in the top 10, such as busted. fair play to them but not much talent goes into that song. its so similar to their others. alex is goin to be an artist in her own right and not necesserily gettin no 1's all the time, but she will have a long and well established career. well dun darling x

I am currently on the cliche find yourself gap year, thousands of miles from home [loving every minuate]i am shocked to find that alex parks single cry entered the british charts at number 13. When i left engand a month ago it was recieving a great deal praise, attention and radio play. Im sure it will clime as it is a great single from a suberb atrist whos talent is only eclipsed by the depth of appreceation from her loyle fans. I adore dirty pretty things. It is a fantastic blend of pop and rock. You have changed a once religous rock fan, opening her mind once again to the ever changing and developing pop maket. If british pop can produce more artists like alex parks i will be listening to the pop charts more othen. Your fans and your self may be pleased to know that your single my be thats what it takes has had air play here. Good luck in america. Alex is in a different class than the throw away pop artists topping the charts. I'm 48yrs old and Alex and her music are pure class. I can honestly say that she is the greatest artist I have ever heard. The acoustic versions on her new singles are amazing. Chasing the Blue is my favorite song/performance of any artist I have heard. What else can I say..... shes magical!

Just want to say that alex has touched me.. i ve watched her on the bbc, i was hooked from moment one (beautiful). In my mind is was hoping that the cd was going to be released here in belgium, but not yet. Alex, if your music can persuaded people from other countries to really make an effort of finding & buying your music, than you're a star who is born. There is only one artist where i would walk the extra mile for and that is Ani Difranco. To start with I was a devoted watchee of Fame Academy and from the start Alex showed a great deal of promise. As the show went on the performances got better and now she's fantastic. Her CD stays permanently in the car. The album is lovely, full of emotion just like all her performances, she's just pure pleasure to watch. Cry is one of my favourites from the album and am pleased that this has been released as a single, and she looks great in the video. So keep your heart in it as I look forward to your next album. I think tha that the song itself is fantastic. But with these declining record sales she may fall into the same pattern that has swallowed up Hear'Say, One True Voice and Gareth Gates. I think she definitely has the talent and the fans to stick around for a long time. However i think her particular music and image is probably not one the gets the top ten hits, and in a chart obsessed business she will probably get dropped by her label. Look at stars like Tracey Chapman /Ani DiFranco though, who still write and tour very succesfully without the hits. Hopefully one label will see that sort of future for her and not leave her in the musical wilderness.
