2003 has been an amazing year for Alex. Barely ten months ago she was an unknown. Her victory on Fame Academy prompted many to say that she was the most authentic talent to have been discovered on a reality TV show. She is already showing signs of turning into one of UK music's most distinctive characters. Co-written by Alex, 'Cry' demonstrates the emotional sincerity in both her song writing and vocal delivery. The single is released on Monday February 16th. Alex writes songs that reach the heart as well as the head, she explains: 'I'm always trying to sing it like I mean it, make every word mean something. I really enjoy just rocking out and singing. It's a release for me.' Alex will shortly be commencing work on new material for her next album due for release later next year. Speaking about the album she says, 'I'll be able to get a lot of what I want across in it. I'm just really excited about that.' A lot the material for Alex's next album will be developed in the States. Alex will be spending a month in America getting tips from some of the world's top artists.
