In the 21st century... Cornwall still leads the way. There's a real sense of optimism amongst many people when they think of Cornwall's future. Cornishround-the-world travellers, local companies who export their products and the constant search for that perfect wave mean that people still leave Cornwall for other countries. They bring back new ideas, experiences and enthusiasm to enrich their home. Students from the rest of the UK and overseas now come to Cornwall to study and the new Combined Universities in Cornwall project will open soon. The flourishing dance party scene in Cornwall grows year by year with events such as the Surfers Against Sewage Ball now an important date on the calender. Cornwall's art heritage means that there is a flourishing arts scene with a world wide reputation. By day Cornish beaches provide the ideal backdrop for extreme sports; as well as surfing, diving, kite surfing, cliff climbing, and body boarding provide ample opportunities for that adrenalin rush. Over the past few years new breed of beach bars has sprung up all along the coast - the perfect place to chill out and watch the sun go down.
