| | The nineth annual Daphne du Maurier Festival of Arts & Literature, organised and promoted by Restormel Borough Council, will take place between Friday 6th and Sunday 15th May in Fowey, and its neighbouring towns and villages. This year's line up is another fascinating mix of star names and local events. | | Paul Carrack |
Topping the bill is Paul Carrack and his band. Paul is the lead singer of the massively successful for Mike and the Mechanics (formed by Mike Rutherford of Genesis) and has provided the lead vocals for the group's multi-million selling singles Silent Running and The Living Years. Other music at this year's Festival includes Georgie Fame and the Blue Flames, folk from Kate Rusby, the Jazz world's sensation Clare Teal and Rock'n' Roll from Showaddywaddy, supported by Cornwall's own Al Hodge. | | Paul Merton |
Top class comedy is to be provided by Paul Merton and his Impro Chums and Julian Clary, with his stage show, Natural Born Mincer. Roy Hudd makes a welcome return to Fowey with his new one-man show. Last year's hit show was the comedy team of Maggie Fox and Sue Ryding, performing Withering Looks. The duo return this year and turn their attentions on the mysterious world of Sherlock Holmes in their show Move Over Moriarty! | | Kate Adie |
