Eleven years on, Race for Life has grown to become the UK's biggest women only fundraising event with your help. Women of all ages and all levels of fitness take part in Race for Life. Over the years a fantastic £70 million has been raised for Cancer Research UK. More than 1.4 million women have taken part. This year the organisers nationwide hope to raise £23 million by bringing 425,000 women together, all raising sponsorship to support the work of Cancer Research UK. Such events like Race for Life are vitally important to Cancer Research UK as they enable the charity to continue their life-saving work. Cancer Research UK is the world's leading independent organisation dedicated to cancer research, with a team of over 3,000 scientists, doctors and nurses.
