Duty to use contraception?
Is there ever a duty to use contraception?
Some proponents of virtue ethics suggest that if a person knows that they would not be a good parent, they have an obligation to avoid becoming a parent.
A person who agrees with this and knows that they would be a bad parent should therefore:
- abstain from sex,
- use effective contraception
- or be willing to have an abortion if contraception doesn't work.
