BBC Philharmonic Chief Guest Conductor, John StorgĆ„rds, leads the orchestra in an afternoon celebrating the works of the self-proclaimed āBad Boy of Musicā, George Antheil.
The afternoon includes Antheilās Third Symphony, subtitled āAmericanā, which Antheil wrote mostly during his tour of the southern and western United States. This expansive piece ā more a collection of tone-poems than a symphony - captures the boldness and breadth of the continent and gives a musical insight into Antheilās travels.
