About This Event
Sit back and let us transport you on an astrological journey with Holst's The Planets, conducted by Anna-Maria Helsing and featuring musicians from the BBC Concert Orchestra from the Universities of Nottingham.
Experience the fierce drama of Mars, the Bringer of War, the serene mysticism of Neptune, the Mystic, and everything in between. More than a sonic display, The Planets is a transformative journey — from martial strife to spiritual reflection — bringing Holst’s unique blend of ancient philosophies and orchestral power vividly to life.
The concert opens with Brahms’s Academic Festival Overture conducted by University of Nottingham conductor, Harry Lai.
