Thomas Søndergård closes the season with one of the world’s great choral works. In his lyrical and uplifting Requiem, Brahms wrote a work of hope shot through with a powerful sense of calm and serenity. Haydn was one of Brahms’s favourite composers and the freshness and vigour of his Symphony No 99 has endeared it to audiences for over two centuries.
