How to cook corn on the cob

Learn three easy ways to cook corn on the cob in this quick video with Elly Smart.
To prepare
Pull away any husk and stringy sections from the corn, wash under cold running water and dry with a tea towel.
To boil
Bring a large pan of water to the boil, place the corn into the pan and allow to boil for 10–12 minutes.
To microwave
Place the corn on a microwavable plate or dish, add a splash of water and cover, ensuring that there is a steam hole. Cook at 750W for 4½–5½ minutes. Allow to stand for 2 minutes, and if the corn is not soft return to the microwave for another 2 minutes.
To bake
Spray or brush the corn with olive oil and wrap in foil, place onto a baking tray and into a preheated 200C/180C Fan/Gas 6 oven for 30 minutes.
To serve, roll the hot corn on the cob in soft butter, salt and pepper.
