The task force of volunteers from the community action team at Cheltenham & Gloucester turned up with spades, shovels, secateurs and wheelbarrow-loads of enthusiasm to continue the work they had begun three weeks earlier. Stage two saw the team: - digging more flower beds - clearing more rubbish - weeding paths - creating a boules pitch - working on the amphitheatre - finishing the giant chessboard - sprucing up seating areas | | BBC Director General Greg Dyke paid a visit and was impressed by the progress |
There is still lots more work to be done but the transformation scene is well on its way. On a recent visit to Gloucester, the BBC's Director General saw for himself the work that is going on at Central Technology College and met pupils and staff. We'll bring you the next update as it happens.
