| | The library has been open to the public since January and is located in the newly refurbished Bromyard Centre. Mike Creswell, Bromyard Town Clerk, came up with the idea for the pageant, after seeing suggestions put forward by David Jones, the artist commissioned to create a frieze representing the culture and history of Bromyard and its surrounding areas. The pageant, which is taking place on 10th April 2004, will represent the different scenes depicted in the frieze. The commission of the frieze has been supported by funds from the Euopean Union, and the project has been undertaken in conjunction with Creative Industries in Herefordshire, Herefordshire Council, and Advantage West Midlands. Clare Stanton, Outreach Worker with Creative Industries said "a number of artists submitted proposals, and a panel chose David's work based on artistic merit, community involvement and value for money. "The work is intended to be environmentally enhancing and hence reflect the culture and history of the Bromyard community". The frieze is made up of 17 interlocking panels, depicting scenes from the history of Bromyard and its surrounding areas.
