About the author
Barbara Watterson studied Egyptology under Professor HW Fairman at Liverpool University. Her doctoral thesis was on the inscriptions in the Temple of Horus at Edfu in Upper Egypt. She has lectured on ancient Egypt for many years for the Continuing Education Department of Liverpool University; and also as a guest lecturer on cruises on the Nile and in the eastern Mediterranean. Her most recent publications include The Egyptians (Blackwell, 1998) and The House of Horus at Edfu: Ritual in an Ancient Egyptian Temple (Tempus Publishing, 1998).
