| | Breezeblock Park tells the story of a typical Liverpool family, together on Christmas Eve among the tinsel and fairy lights to celebrate the festivities. But beneath the surface of their Christmas cheer are rivalries, arguments and a secret. As the drinks flow, tongues loosen and a certain piece of news threatens to tear the family apart. Breezeblock Park was originally produced at the Everyman in 1975, with a cast that included Julie Walters and Pete Postlethwaite. It was a sell-out success. Now almost thirty years on, Willy Russell’s Christmas cracker is back! Glen Walford, who had a huge success directing Educating Rita last year makes a welcome return to this new production. A stellar Liverpool cast has been assembled to perform the play. The nine-strong company includes Pauline Daniels as Betty, Michael Starke as Syd, Andrew Schofield as Ted, Neil Caple as Tommy, Joanna Monro as Reeny, Sophie Stanton as Vera, Ray Newe as John, Stephen Fletcher as Tim, and Annabelle Dowler as Sandra. It looks to be a very special show, so follow the details below to get your tickets. Breezeblock Park is at the Liverpool Playhouse between 11th December 2003 and 10th January 2004 at 7.30pm.
