Acclaimed scriptwriter Jimmy McGovern and local producer Colin McKeown along with former Coronation Street stars, Georgia Taylor and Jennifer James, will help to boost the Film Festival.
McGovern and McKeown will host a Question and Answer session after a special screening of their heart-rendering emotional award-winning feature film Liam, at Wigan's UGC Cinema on Tuesday 23rd September. A 'Script to Screen' of BBC 3 drama series Burn It will take place with the creative team in attendance, who will discuss the production process - the set will be open to the public at Trencherfield Mill. The idea for the event, which will be opened by Georgia Taylor and Jennifer James, came as a result of Wigan's twinning with the French town of Angers. Local students have been invited to take part by submitting their own short films and photographic displays. In a nutshell: Wigan International Film Festival - 22/23 September 2003 Various venues.
