Warning as key route closed after serious crash

A key route is closed after a serious two-vehicle crash, police say.

Officers were called to a report of a collision on the A40 near Dowdeswell in the Cotswolds at about 15:45 GMT.

Emergency services are currently at the scene, and the A40 has been shut in both directions while investigative work is carried out.

A Gloucestershire Police spokesperson warned drivers to avoid the area.

The force has advised drivers to final alternative routes.
