A man has been charged with two counts of attempted murder after a man and woman were attacked with a knife.

West Yorkshire Police were called to a flat in Kilpin Court, Heckmondwike, near Dewsbury, at about 22:20 GMT on Saturday after reports two people had been attacked.

The man and woman were treated at the scene for facial and neck injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening, before they were taken to hospital.

Eoin Woodrow, 19, of Lobley Street, Heckmondwike, is due to appear at Leeds Magistrates' Court later charged with two counts of attempted murder.

Speaking on Sunday, Det Insp Sarah Bradley said there was "no wider threat to the public" and the force was not looking for other suspects, adding that the attack appeared to be a "domestic incident".
