Witness appeal after man seriously hurt in crash

A man in his 60s was seriously injured when his car left the road and crashed into heavy foliage, police have said.

The man was driving a green Lotus Eletre Sport on Westwood Drive in Ilkley when the vehicle crashed at about 11:20 GMT on Monday.

The car had been travelling west from the direction of Wells Road when the crash occurred. The driver was taken to hospital in a serious condition, West Yorkshire Police said.

A force spokesperson appealed for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to get in touch.
