Plans announced for 160 homes on edge of village
GooglePlans have been lodged to create 160 homes on the edge of a village in Derbyshire.
NorthCountry Homes has submitted a planning application to Bolsover District Council to build the development on land east of Rotherham Road in New Houghton.
According to planning documents, the proposed development would comprise 58 two-bedroom, 83 three-bedroom and 19 four-bedroom properties, of which 10% would be classed as affordable housing.
A report submitted with the application states the estate would provide housing in an area where there is a "known demand".
The development would include 1.5 hectares (3.7 acres) of public open space, which could accommodate playground equipment.
"The proposal will create a high-quality development that delivers a range of dwellings, including bungalows and affordable housing, in an attractive setting," the planning documents state.
The council is due to make a decision on the proposal by 29 June.
