Boy, 11, seriously injured after bike hit by car

An 11-year-old boy was taken to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car in Hinckley.

Leicestershire Police said it was called at 17:45 GMT on Wednesday to reports of a car hitting a bike in Olympic Way.

The force said at 01:45 on Thursday that the road had reopened after it was closed for several hours.

Officers said no arrests had been made and inquiries were continuing.
