E-scooter rider in drink-drive arrest after crash
Nottinghamshire PoliceA 19-year-old electric scooter rider has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after a crash with a taxi in Nottingham.
Police said the scooter had been rented from the city council before the crash in Derby Road, Lenton, at 03:00 GMT on Tuesday.
Neither the rider nor the taxi driver was injured in the collision, officers added.
Ch Insp Anwaar Ahmed, from Nottinghamshire Police, said: "If you are caught drinking and driving whilst riding a rented e-scooter, you will face the same consequences as any other road users – with all the legal, personal, and professional ramifications that go along with that."
