Five arrested after e-scooter rider seriously injured
BBCFive people have been arrested after an e-scooter rider was seriously injured following a hit-and-run collision with a car.
Emergency services were called to St Paul's Road, near the junction for Folly Lane, in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, at about 23:00 GMT on Saturday.
Officers said the driver of the white vehicle had left the scene. The man riding the e-scooter remains in Southmead Hospital, where he was taken for treatment.
Gloucestershire Police said a man aged in his 20s from Cheltenham handed himself in to police earlier. He remains in custody.
Police arrested four other people on suspicion of assisting an offender in the early hours of Sunday morning, and they remain in police custody.
