Volunteers gear up for a spring clean across town
Falmouth Town CouncilStudents, local organisations and businesses are set to volunteer time cleaning up a town before the visitor season begins.
Falmouth Town Council said local people were asked to litter pick, wash down benches, clear graffiti and refresh planters on 25 March, as part of the Great British Spring Clean 2026.
Falmouth School students will join Friends of Tregoniggie Woodland to litter pick through the Green Corridor and Friends of Swanpool to tidy around the nature reserve.
Joanne Guest, head teacher at the school, said "learning about environmental responsibility and taking real pride in the place they call home, is incredibly valuable".
GoogleShe said: "At Falmouth School, we believe that education extends far beyond the classroom.
"Falmouth is a remarkable town, and it's important to us that our young people understand the role they play in keeping it that way."
The council said four volunteer groups would work through the main streets while waste and recycling firm BIFFA jet washed benches.
Community groups and local hotels will focus on beaches and green spaces across the rest of Falmouth, from Greenbank to Gyllyngvase, with English Heritage carrying out work on Pendennis Headland.
People from community hub the Dracaena Centre are set to tidy the playing fields and skatepark.
Keren Cooksey, from Falmouth Business Improvement District, said: "First impressions matter, and a well-presented town sets the tone for the whole season ahead."
