Care home evacuated when car catches fire

A care home was evacuated when a vehicle caught fire in its car park.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said the hybrid car was on charge at The Briars Residential Care Home in Glemsford, near Sudbury, at about 09:50 GMT.

Although the car was well alight when crews arrived, there was no damage to the main building.

The incident was dealt with by about 11:20 GMT.
