Boy, 16, dies after cyclist hit by car

A 16-year-old boy has died after a cyclist was hit by a car.

The incident happened on the junction of Penarth Road and Clare Road in Cardiff at 12:25 GMT on Wednesday.

The family of the boy from Grangetown are being supported by specially-trained officers, South Wales Police said.

The force said it was aware that footage of the crash had been shared on Facebook and other social media which it advised against.

"Please consider the impact on the family of the victim and refrain from sharing this further," it said.
