Pair rescued after flooding in Leicestershire

Two people were rescued from a car that become stuck in flood water in Leicestershire.

The county's fire service said it was called to Crow Mills at about 18:00 GMT on Friday.

Firefighters rescued the pair and said both were "fit and well".

The emergency came amid heavy rain over several days which saw more than 40 flood alerts and warnings issued across Leicestershire by the Environment Agency.
