Two men have received lengthy prison sentences for the attempted murder of an 18-year-old man who shot and repeatedly stabbed in the back of a taxi.

Harris Mohammed, 24, and Riccardo Nadim, 20, approached the vehicle in a "pincer movement" as it sat parked in Dovedale Road, Bradford in March 2025.

Jurors heard how Mohammed shot the man twice in the face while Nadim stabbed him from the other side of the car.

Both men were found guilty of attempted murder after a trial, with Mohammed jailed for 30 years while Nadim was sentenced to 28 years.

West Yorkshire Police said the victim was treated in hospital for injuries to his face, right arm and back, but decided not to assist with the police investigation.

He later made a full recovery from his injuries, the force said.

Mohammed, of Carbottom Road in Bradford, and Nadim, of Tarnside Drive in Leeds, were also found guilty of conspiracy to possess a firearm with intent to endanger life.

A third man, 20-year-old Davian Lewis, of Paley Road in Bradford, was jailed for two years and six months for assisting an offender.

Det Insp Suzanne Hall said: "This was a shocking incident that left a man seriously injured in the middle of the street, and it understandably caused fear and concern within the community.

"Today's sentences send a clear message that those who choose to carry or use firearms and weapons will be pursued and brought before the courts."
