Man charged over fatal Croydon stabbing
Met PoliceA man has been charged with the murder of a 22-year-old man who was stabbed to death in south London.
Police were called to Hesterman Way, Croydon, at about 01:15 GMT on Sunday, where they found three men with stab wounds.
Lorik Abazi was taken to hospital by paramedics but later died.
The Met said Ellis Anim Annor, 28, of Belgravia Gardens, Bromley, was due to appear at Bromley Magistrates' Court charged with his murder.
A total of 10 people have been arrested as part of the investigation:
- Two women, both aged 25, and a 28-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of murder on Sunday. The man has been charged, while both women have been bailed
- One of the women was arrested again on Wednesday on suspicion of perverting the course of justice and has since been bailed pending further investigation
- Two men, both 21, and two women, aged 21 and 22, were arrested on suspicion of affray on Sunday. The two women and one of the men have been bailed
- The second man had been taken to hospital with life threatening injuries following the stabbing; after being discharged he was taken into custody and has now been released on bail
- On Wednesday, a 21-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice. She has been bailed pending further inquiries
- On Thursday, two women, both aged 22, were arrested on suspicion of affray. They remain in custody
In a statement released following his death, Mr Abazi's family said: "We, his parents, brother, girlfriend, grandparents and extended family and friends, loved him very much.
"A light has gone out in our lives, and we are devastated beyond words by his loss.
"We kindly ask for privacy at this time."
Police have urged anyone with information, CCTV or dashcam footage to submit it via the Major Incident Public Portal or call 101, quoting CAD 511/15FEB.
