A man accused of the murder of a dog-walker has admitted stabbing his landlord and a 14-year-old boy.

Safi Dawood, a 23-year-old Afghan migrant, pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent to Shahzad Farrukh, 45, and causing actual bodily harm to the teenager in relation to an incident in Midhurst Gardens in Uxbridge, west London, on 27 October.

He also pleaded guilty to one count of possessing an offensive weapon.

Appearing at Southwark Crown Court by video-link, Dawood did not enter a plea to a charge of the murder of 49-year-old Wayne Broadhurst, who died at the scene after being stabbed multiple times in the neck while walking his dog.

Dawood allegedly approached one of the witnesses to the attack with a knife in his hand, and was standing in her garden while members of her family sought to help Farrukh and the 14-year-old boy, who had suffered minor injuries to his hands, a previous hearing was told.

Dawood pleaded not guilty to the two alternative attempted murder charges relating to the attacks on Farrukh and the teenager.

A further case management hearing will take place on 2 June ahead of a trial scheduled to start on 13 July.

Dawood entered the UK in a lorry in 2020 and was granted asylum in 2022, the Home Office previously confirmed.
