A man has been charged after a disturbance at a jobs fair set up by the Blackpool South MP Chris Webb.

The Labour MP said he was "incredibly grateful" to Lancashire Police officers and his parliamentary security team for "their swift action" in dealing with the incident on Thursday.

Tom O'Keefe, 42, of Cross Street, Blackpool, has since been charged with a Section 5 Public Order offence.

He is due to appear at Lancaster Magistrates Court on 24 April.

Mr Webb, who was elected in 2024, set up a jobs fair in the resort a year later, which returned for the second time at the Winter Gardens Conference Centre this week.
