Three dead in two separate crashes

Three people have died in two separate crashes in Northern Ireland on Saturday.

Two people were killed following a road traffic collision involving a motorcycle and a car at Upper Ballinderry in County Antrim.

In a separate incident, one person died after a single-vehicle crash in County Tyrone on Saturday evening.

Police have appealed for information and digital footage in relation to both incidents.

Glenavy Road crash

Police said they received a report shortly before 18:00 BST on Saturday of a collision in Glenavy Road in Upper Ballinderry.

The emergency services attended, but the drivers of both vehicles died at the scene.

"Another person was taken to hospital for treatment to their injuries," Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) Det Insp Dave Stewart added.

The road, which was closed for a time between the junctions of Soldierstown Road and Hammonds Road, has since reopened.

Caledon crash

In County Tyrone a person has been arrested after a crash involving a van.

It happened at about 23:00 in the Derrycourtney Road in Caledon.

The police, ambulance and fire service attended but the person was pronounced dead at the scene.

Derrycourtney Road, which was closed overnight, has reopened.

Sinn Féin MLA Colm Gildernew for the area said it was "devastating"

"This will come as a terrible shock to his family, friends and the community and I want to extend my condolences to them at this tragic time."

Serious crash in Antrim

Meanwhile in Antrim, the Belfast Road at Nutts Corner had been closed following a serious road traffic collision but has now reopened.

In County Tyrone the Clanabogan Road was closed between between Omagh and Dromore following a serious road traffic collision but has reopened.
