A 33-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after another man was stabbed in the neck.

The attack happened at about 07:45 GMT in Barrow's Salthouse Road area, Cumbria Police said.

The injured man, who is also in his 30s, was taken to hospital and his condition is described as stable with wounds that are not believed to be life-threatening.

Officers are appealing for anyone with information to get in touch.
