Boy, 15, remains in hospital after school stabbing
BBCA 15-year-old boy remains in hospital with serious injuries after being stabbed at a school in Nottingham.
Police said officers were called to Nottingham University Academy of Science and Technology (NUAST) in Dunkirk Road shortly after 13:30 GMT on Thursday.
Another 15-year-old boy was arrested at the scene on suspicion of committing grievous bodily harm and possession of a knife in a public place.
Nottinghamshire Police said the two boys were from the same school and that the stabbing was not linked to recent warnings about "school wars" social media posts.
The force said the boy was taken to hospital with a stab wound not currently believed to be life-threatening in nature. The school was closed on Friday.
In a letter to parents on Friday afternoon, head teacher Dave Thompson confirmed the school would reopen on Monday.
He said it would be returning to its usual routines "as quickly as possible", adding he would be addressing all year groups through assemblies.
There will also be extended tutor time with assemblies and the school will be working with police to "provide a positive and reassuring presence outside the school", the letter added.

Detectives have been analysing CCTV footage and carrying out further inquiries with the assistance of the school.
Supt Chris Pearson said: "This was a shocking incident which has understandably caused concern among parents and the wider community.
"We are supporting the victim's family and help is being made available to others in the school community affected by the incident.
"Our inquiries continue at pace and we are grateful for the assistance from both the school and those living in this neighbourhood.
"The incident involved two students who attend the school and are known to each other.
"We are not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident and it is not linked to the national 'school wars' social media posts published earlier in the week."
However, the force has said high-visibility patrols will be taking place across some of Nottingham's schools and colleges to offer reassurance to parents and pupils.
