Pedestrian in his 70s killed in collision with car
GoogleA man in his 70s has died after being struck by a car in Oxfordshire, police have said.
Thames Valley Police said it had been called to the incident on A417 Reading Road in East Hendred just before 07:20 BST on Thursday morning.
The collision involved a silver Volkswagen Golf and a pedestrian, who was pronounced dead at the scene, the force said.
It said the man's family had been informed and that no arrests had been made in connection with the incident.
Appealing for information, Det Sgt Oliver Cahill‑Smith said: "We are investigating this collision as a priority and would urge anyone who witnessed the incident to get in touch."
"We would particularly like to speak to drivers who passed through the area between 7.10pm and 7.20pm, especially those travelling west towards Wantage," he explained.
"They may be able to provide witness accounts or relevant dashcam footage of the driving conditions at the time."
